Art colleges never worked out for me, i guess i just couldn't handle sitting in a dull room for 5 hours a day listening to someone rattle on about history. Don't get me wrong I am fascinated with the Art & History subjects but i have the concentration of a fly. So instead I am now a self taught artist, nothing more relaxing than sitting in the garden (or anywhere in fact) with a coffee/beer/whiskey learning new techniques and just researching into the subjects around my ideas for a new drawing/painting.

Apologies for the late journal entry, working 6 days a week seems to destroy my personal life funnily enough.
I want to say a big thank you to everyone that read and liked my >last entry<
I'm really pleased to hear you found it inspiring.
I have a bit of sad news about this update, unfortunately my scanner does not understand its purpose, and wont scan my sketches!! So I will upload my progress in images as soon as i either fix it or get a new one! please keep an eye out for my update :)

Firstly welcome to my journal, I want to share with all of you my weekly favourites and also my process of self teaching and the tools im using.
Motivation is the key. My first step was to set a future goal, way into the future, for example In 10 years time i would love to own an art studio and open up a gallery. At first it seemed a little extreme and I have been pushing it to the back of my mind. But, ive had a wake up call (working in crappy jobs for the past 5 years, depression ect.) who's to say this can never happen? Why wont this happen? We are in charge of our own destinies.
